Katkout al wadi is the end result of the Group’s grandparent and parent breeding operations, which have provided the Egyptian poultry growers since 1986 with healthy broiler parents, and commercial broiler and layer chicks with high immunity and production potential. Wadi chicks have been awarded prizes for the highest performers in Egypt and the Middle East.
Production has steadily grown from 1.5 million layer chicks in 1986, to exceed 10 million in 2010, which represents 45% of the local market demand. In addition, broiler chicks production jumped from 3 million in 1988 to exceed 100 million in 2005, and represents 20% of the local demand in 2010.
