Katkoot El Wadi
Katkout Al Wadi is the commercial brand name for the group’s local poultry operations that comprises of two business entities forming a semi-vertically integrated system for the production of day-old-chicks (DOCs). The DOCs are the end result of Wadi Group's grandparent and parent breeding operations, which, since 1986, have provided Egyptian poultry growers with superior breeds of healthy broiler parents, commercial broiler, and layer chicks characterized by high immunity and production potential. Production has steadily grown from 1.5 million layer chicks in 1986 to more than 10 million in 2015, representing more than 30% of local market demand. Furthermore, the production of broiler chicks increased from three million in 1988 to surpass 90 million in 2015, representing 10% of local demand in 2015.
Katkout Al Wadi is the product of two companies:
Wadi Poultry Parents
Katkout Al Wadi is one of the four main pillars of the Group’s Wadi Total Solution, which provides farmers with a fully-integrated range of dedicated and customized services to help them achieve the highest rates of productivity and profitability from their flocks.
As part of Wadi Group’s firm commitment and ambitious vision to transfer its knowledge and expertise to other markets, the Group launched a joint venture in Sudan in cooperation with Al Nefeddy Nefeidi Group under the commercial name of Inmaa. As a semi-integrated poultry operation, Inmaa successfully operates in four different locations specialized in the production of poultry broiler parents, commercial broilers, white commercial layers, in addition to a state-of-the-art commercial feed mill. Inmaa is considered the sole poultry grandparent operation in Sudan with 45% market share in commercial broilers.
Wadi Group’s ongoing efforts to further develop the value chain of its agribusiness operations, has encouraged the Group to develop Hi-Tec, an advanced veterinary laboratory. Hi-Tec uses cutting edge equipment while applying international best practices as it conducts periodical diagnoses to assess diseases and immunity levels of poultry flocks. The laboratory also monitors the development, health and growth of Wadi poultry flocks and evaluates vaccination programs. As a value-added service, Hi-Tec extends diagnostic services to the broiler and layer flocks of Wadi Group customers

A'laf Sub-Brands Constitutes of: • 8-Cycle Feed (Commercial Broiler) A’laf Al Wadi commenced its operations with the production of commercial feed for commercial broilers under the name 8-Cycle Feed, which helps farmers increase the traditional breeding cycle from six cycles to eight cycles per year. These two additional breeding cycles per year help farmers increase their annual productivity and profits. • Golden Feed Meal (Commercial Layer and Broiler Parents) Capitalizing on its expertise in commercial broiler feed, in 2011 A’laf Al Wadi launched another successful product under the name Golden Feed Meal to cater to commercial layers. Comprised of the highest quality ingredients, Super Balady provides farmers with the flexibility to cater to the unique nutritive requirements necessary to enhance the productivity of native breeds. • Kamla Kamla is a feed concentrate that includes all essential feed additives in adequate proportions as required by farmers who prefer to utilize their own farm-made feed. With superior quality ingredients, Kamla can be added to corn and soya to produce farm-made feed that provides additional nutrients poultry flocks need to maximize their full genetic potential.
Tabreed, a Wadi Group business unit, manufactures first class cooling cell pads using evaporative cooling technology to cater to the specific demands of commercial and non-commercial environments, such as poultry farms, green houses, warehouses, factories, and eco-lodges. In closed environments, Tabreed reduces temperatures by 15-20 degrees Celsius, as it provides outstanding cooling and ventilation for hen houses, while helping layer and broiler flocks achieve ultimate performance. Tabreed allows poultry breeders to realize improved profitability by increasing the capacity of each ward by up to 25% while maintaining standard health requirements.
Tabreed also reduces the internal temperatures in closed greenhouses by 12-14 degrees Celsius, offering ideal humidity levels for crops. The use of Tabreed helps regulate the production cycle of crops, allowing them to flourish outside their planting season. Tabreed also maintains optimal air flow, enabling farmers to increase the production of every greenhouse by about 40%, while maintaining high quality and consistent crop growth. Tabreed has a strong presence in Egypt and Turkey through facilities that cater to the MENA, Europe, and the Caspian Sea regions.

Nile Storage and Stevedoring Company (NSSC), a joint project between Wadi Group and MedSofts, is considered the largest river grain port facility terminal in the MENA region. Offering the unprecedented floating discharge services for grain, oilseeds, and soft commodities in Egypt, NSSC boosts Egypt’s Alexandria Port’s storage and stevedoring capacity by 22%, providing customers with enhanced speed and efficiency owing to the superior capacity of the floating discharge terminal. Featuring a versatile discharge facility, capable of receiving two different types of grains and discharging 12 different receivers simultaneously, NSCC has a discharge capacity of 1200 ton/hour. It also features 17 22 modern sealed silos and four flat stores, with the capacity to store 144,000 160,000 tons of all types of grain.
NSSC plays a vital role in maximizing the utilization of the Nile River, as a vital lifeline for the transportation of various cargos from Lower to Upper Egypt and vice versa. River transport has a greater capacity to transfer goods, compared to road transport, while reducing road damage, accident rates, and is more environmentally friendly. Hence NSSC has succeeded to make grain handling logistics as safe and as efficient as can be.
